ISLAND LAKE BASS DERBY

16th Annual Island Lake Bass Fishing Derby

July 11 and 12, 2026

Location: Island Lake Conservation Area, 673067 Hurontario St. Orangeville, Ontario

Two day catch & release derby hosted by the Friends of Island Lake as a fundraiser for Island Lake Conservation Area. More than $7500 in Cash Prizes!

The Derby will take place on Saturday, July 11 from 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and Sunday, July 12 from 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. One day or two day tickets are available. Park and boat launch open at 5:30 a.m. The Rental Shop, bait, tackle and rentals open at 6:00 a.m. each day,

Pricing:

Two categories:

Regular (age 13+)

Youth (age 15 and under)

Prizes:

REGULAR (age 13+): Prizes will be awarded to the registered participant catching the fish that has the highest combined score that includes weight (in grams) and length (in millimetres)

1st place Bass: $5000 cash

2nd place Bass: $1500 cash

3rd place Bass $1000

YOUTH (15 and under): Daily plaques for first place: Largemouth/ Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, Yellow Perch, Black Crappie, Pumpkinseed and Rock Bass.
